Farewell Letter From Your Chairman

October 25, 2001

Hello to Everyone,

I didn’t fall off the earth, but took an overdue break from a very busy September.  I want to thank all those who sent such kind letters of appreciation to me for the reunion effort.  Those really meant a lot.

The Photo Memory Book photos and instructions were sent to me this week and I will have to do the layout and label the 20 pages, then return for printing.  I hope to complete this project by the end of October.  We have some GREAT photos and I think we have at least one photo of everyone who attended.  I did want you all to know the process for the book creation so you would understand why it takes so long.

If you purchased a book at the time of registration or from me on Saturday night, I will be mailing them out.  If you purchased a book from Holly Barry Photography, she will mail them out instead of me.  Anyway, everyone who ordered a book will get one.  If ordered, the group photo will also be mailed with the book.

The alumni directory is typed and will be printed shortly.  We did not receive many advertising sponsors, so I have had to be creative in completing this project.  If you attended the Saturday night event you will receive one.  If you did not attend Saturday night, but purchased one on the registration form, you will receive one.  I am asking for your patience as I finish this project.

The committee is having a final post event meeting next week and will decide how to “pass the baton” to someone else.

The idea of an “Alumni Association” has also been mentioned.  This would be a life-long association with annual dues ($20) going into the reunion fund.  Those who are charter members (joining the first year) and continue their membership until the 2006 reunion would have a paid reunion registration.  Also, an annual newsletter would be mailed to the alumni members to keep them abreast of classmate news.  An alumni president and treasurer would be selected and when appropriate, a reunion committee would be recruited by the alumni president to plan the 35th reunion.  I’m interested in your thoughts on this idea.

Again, thanks to all of you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your chairman for the 2001 30th Class Reunion.

Affectionately,

Cathy Beeson Bridge
